Kocot Kids is a family business in Opole, in the south of Poland, and has been making children's bedroom furniture since 2011. Beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers, desks and shelving, built for people who have not yet learned that furniture is not for climbing, and made by a company that has evidently accepted they never will.

Safety, specified rather than promised.

The wood is FSC certified, the boards are E1 class with low formaldehyde emissions, the edges are rounded, and the varnishes are tested to EN 71-3, the standard that governs what a child might end up chewing. It is a refreshingly dull list, and the dull lists are the ones worth reading.

Low beds, house beds and things with hearts cut into them.

The range runs from low beds with safety rails for smaller children and house-shaped beds for the imaginative, through to minimalist Scandinavian pieces with solid oak legs that will survive the move from nursery to teenage bedroom with dignity intact. Collections match, so a room can be furnished in one go rather than assembled piecemeal over several years.
