Sleepy Wilson

Named For The Caterpillar, Which Is Rather The Point.

Paula and Tom Wilson spent years in fashion and considerably longer not sleeping, and then had children who turned out to share the tendency, at which point they stopped looking for a solution and built one. The brand is named around the caterpillar, which eats, spins itself a cocoon, sleeps properly for once in its life and emerges as something entirely different. Anybody who has had a genuinely good night will recognise the feeling.

Everything is made from 19mm silk, the highest grade, which is naturally temperature regulating, breathable and antibacterial, and holds its shape through a decade of washing. Six percent stretch is built in, which is why these work as well on a sofa on a Sunday as they do in bed. French seamed throughout, so the inside is as considered as the outside. The range covers women's pyjamas, shirts, blouses, trousers and shorts in the finely tailored Poppy and the more generously cut Aurelie, children's sleepwear from three to twelve, and natural soy wax candles. Nothing plastic anywhere: not the trims, not the swing tags, not the mailer. They have taken Platinum at the Junior Design Awards and been named Ones to Watch at the Drapers Sustainability Awards two years running.
