Linen is unexpectedly heroic: strong yet classy. Machine wash at 40 degrees Celsius or, for the conscientious sort, hand wash finer linens. Use gentle detergent and an oxygen-based bleach if you must. Air dry for best results, but tumble dry on low if you’re feeling modern. Iron if you fancy, though the lived-in crumple is rather on trend.
